First vintage produced for this exceptional blend obtained with grapes from the younger Riesling vineyard pressed directly to maintain a sharp acidity while the Pinot Grigio grapes were de-stemmed and left on relax on the skins for about a week; the two lots were assembled in April 2019 in two barrels and were bottled in March 2020. The blend is dedicated to "Weinschwärmer" (Deilephila porcellus), a wonderfully colored moth that lives in the area where the vineyards are located (Bavaria Northern). Not only does that moth carry the word "wine" in its name, it's also a delicacy for local bats!
