Masterful interpretation of Sangiovese!
Grapes from two vineyards, the historic Querciola and the younger Fornace both kissed by the sun and the coastal breeze of the sea which has a significant influence on Massa Marittima village.
Maceration for about three weeks and aging in oak barrels for about two years.
Grumpy at the opening, just five minutes and it's immediately a show! Acidity, sapidity and tannins all well balanced with each other, red fruits, the classic note of the vine based on green pepper and then herbs and licorice for a finish that despite the complexity always invites you to drink. Always a certainty Massa Vecchia!!!
