About him: Nico Mangione's first wine, a Mediterranean wine that expresses all the sense of belonging and love for one's land!
It's a Primitivo from non-red earth soils, with less structure than the classic Primitivos of Salento. In fact, Nico seeks acidity (which he believes is the true weak point of Puglia) with targeted and progressive defoliation practices capable of maintaining and often increasing its presence in the musts. The yields are never excessively low in order to reach ripeness of the grapes without the usual sugar loads always lurking in these grapes. The drinkability and depth come from short macerations and non-invasive extractions (multiple pumping overs at the beginning and only punching down at the end). In the mouth it translates into an enveloping and drinkable Primitivo, deep and sunny. Nice nice!
